Be sure to ask to go to the lower temple. Very beautiful. There, pay attention to the graves of Count Vorontsov and his wife.

The original Ukrainian Orthodox church dates from the late 18th c. The interior dazzles. Marble columns and gold leaf trim catch your eye, as does the fact there are no pews. It is quite large. People were buying candles for prayers. Icons were being kissed....More

A recreation of the original church, which was destroyed by the communists during the 1930's. What I like are the nearby booths that feature handmade Ukrainian clothing and crafts.

The original cathedral was blown up in stalinist times. It is being rebuilt in traditional style with a modern touch and unusually bright for an orthodox cathedral.

I wandered in during a Sunday service. The singing was fantastic. It was a magical experience. Definitely worth exploring.

If you have seen other orthodox churches you will agree this church has not much to offer. Still I like the light and open interior.
