Real nice part of the town to be in, small but nice monument. Alot of things to see and do around it. Well worth to read the Novel

I happen to go past the chair as part of my walking tour on Day 1 in Odessa. And quickly sat down and got a picture. I wouldn't bother to seek it out or put in on your list of things to do in Odessa,...More

Located on the edge of the City Park this chair is dedicated to two Soviet era writers and is inscribed with the word love in every conceivable language. It is a widely popular photo venue and can get quite busy when tour buses arrive.

One of the main attraction in the Central park. for young people and people abroad Russian speaking countries I would recommend to read Ilf and Petrov 12 chairs book first.

The chair is devoted to a famous book by Russian/Soviet comedians Ilf and Petrov about Ostap Bender, a fraudulent guy who is trying to make money after hearing a rumor that a huge treasure is hidden in one of the 12 chairs of a set....More

why do they kill eachother to sit on it? I dont get it... I think its more interesting to watch the people on the line to sit and take a photo than the monument itself.

Picture spot. Right in the heart of a super central square, it will catch your attention while walking by. Just few seconds for a fast selfie here.

If you don't know the story behind this chair which sits in the City park you will just say its just a chair, But I believe that the story is so important enough for people to come and have their photos taken with this chair...More

I was enriched by the story behind this famous chair. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Odessa to experience taking photographs at this chair knowing what the story behind it was.

Love this little quirky photo shoot opportunity. Best if you find out a little before queuing for your picture. This monument always has people waiting so allow 15 mins. The park however is well worth visiting in its entirety anyway with good cafes and bars...More

This is in the central city park of the old town. It is quite whimsical to see a monument to an empty 12th chair. To get a good photo, it is better to stand beside or behind the chair.
