To get there: uber from Antigua to the pueblo of santa Maria de jesus. From there you can go to the municipality office and get a ticket (q40) and a guide (q20-200) based on how many in your group. Then you walk up the street...More

This is clearly seen from most of the City and is amazing. Has not erupted for many years but like most volcanoes the threat is there. We stopped for photos at one with a wisp of smoke coming over from the cruise port.

This volcano can be done in an overnight hike (some can do it all in one day, not me). You need a guide for safety reasons.

Not suitable for climbing due to assaults.If you decide to climb it, take a guide. The city of Antigua is at the foot of the Agua volcano.
