Yup, it's a street bazaar (pun intended). Anything you could want but very difficult to navigate. If you see something you want, make your deal because chances are, you won't be able to find the same stall again!

It's a street market. It's free to enter. There are a lot of things for sale, fruit, crafts, textiles. It is worth the visit. I found it to be very crowded and confusing, but it is still cool to go in and look around.

This is one of my favorite markets. BUT...note that it is known as a "tourist market" to the locals, so don't buy anything at face value. If you want to go to the non-tourist market, head to the one called just Mercado. But the textiles...More

Had a marvelous time shopping in the street market, and "haggling" with the vendors. As a crafter, I LOVE the tipica fabrics and this was a marvelous place to pick up more fabric at reasonable prices. And of course jewelry. And those T-shirts that those...More

You can buy everything in this market, but most of us foreigners are interested in the handicrafts and souvenirs. It is loud and colourful just like a local market should be. The people selling the goods are not pushy and will usually always discount the...More

We purchased some gifts from this marketplace to take home to our friends, and they loved them. The vendors in this marketplace are a little less aggressive than you might find in other markets around Guatemala, and the handmade items are vibrant, colorful and really...More

Vibrant colours, amazing people and culutre. I was here in April 2017 around easter time and the celebrations are overwhelming. Big floats and processions and colourful arts in the streets. I loved it!

I was a little hesitant to go to the market at first because I was traveling solo and people from home warned me about pickpockets and large crowds. So, I first went on a Monday in the afternoon (instead of their busiest day, Saturday). Although...More

It was very enjoyable to stroll through the market. Not too much pressure to purchase and they would work with you on prices. I enjoyed looking through the fruits and vegetables! So colorful and I saw foods I have never seen before.
