Church and ruins on a large scale. Not crowded during the week but very busy on Sunday. Be sure to go to the south side of the church to see the ruins. The north side is non-nondescript.

When in Antigua, this is a DO NOT MISS. I'm not a religious man, but there is something about the energy here - both in the cathedral and the museum of Santo Hermano Pedro alike - that is other worldly. You can literally feel the...More

I really wanyed to see some of the colonial ruins before going home and this was a great choice! Lots to see and lots I missed. Really could have (and should have) spent more time there. Only downer was that there was a guy right...More

Only in a few places in the world do you see people walking up the isle on their knees and this is one of them. You are not able to take pictures of the inside of the church. Oddly enough to the right of the...More

If you enjoy history step into the church to see the stations of the cross, paintings, decor and ambiance. Next to the church are the ruins that date back to the conquistadors. Bring your camera.

I always enjoy visiting this church, for all of its beauty: the architecture, the chance to witness authentic religious devotion, an opportunity to encounter Antigua's history and culture, a beautiful garden and a small market with articles you may not find anywhere else.
