Skopje lacks many old structures because of the earthquake in 1963. Therefore it is nice to see any old structures and the stone bridge is one such item. It is really very ordinary but I did like the little statue of the diver and the...More

The bridge connected the two parts of the city, Christian and Muslim. Old town and new square on each end.

There is a sense of grandeur around this part of town. This bridge in effect links the old town and bazaar to the new town, and is full of gigantic statues, including Philip of Macednoia and Alexander the great, and fountains

Connects the two sides of the city. Make sure to look down from the bridge. There is a surprise in the water. Hint: It's female.

It is a nice and old bridge. Located in the heart of Skopje. My hotel was just around the corner ( see another review ).

Best seen from the Art Bridge, it makes a nice way to stroll into the old quarter - the views towards the square and the city are also quite good.

It is what you'll see AFTER you cross it that counts: the Old City, Kalle (the fortress), charming shops and terrific restaurants.

Great walking zone in the center of Skopje. The river Vardar has a strong current, from the bridge you can see enlightened buildings and restaurant ships.

Take this bridge across the river from Macedonian Square toward the Old Bazaar. Don't miss the mizrab in the center, so that everyone knew which direction Mecca was. The story of Karkosh, who rebelled against the Ottoman in 1689, is too grisly to relate here....More
