There is more significance to the statue than just looking at it. In the middle of a kind of roundabout so you will need to run over a few lanes of traffic to get to it. Locals like to skateboard here. As it was xmas time there where lights everywhere so probably looked lovely in the dark.

Monumento al Divino Salvador del Mundo (English: Monument to the Divine Savior of the World) is a monument located on Plaza El Salvador del Mundo (The Savior of the World Plaza) in San Salvador City, El Salvador. It consists of a statue of Jesus Christ standing a global sphere of planet earth, placed on top of the tall four-sided concrete base pedestal.[1] It is a landmark located in the country's capital San Salvador. It is a symbol that identifies and represents both El Salvador and Christian Salvadorans throughout the world but not the entire population.

The Salvador del Mundo monument is THE reference for giving addresses in the city, as it is located at the center of 3 very important city ways. The monument has been renovated, but in the process the plaza was covered entirely with marble floors, losing it's previous 'tropical with palmtrees' appeal (just as the city has lost it also). There are no parking spaces, and getting there on foot is a bit dangerous due to heavy and chaotic traffic. The area is safe, and the monument itself is very nice, but apart from it, there is nothing else to do at the plaza, and it doesn't even have enough grass areas for kids to play. Worth a visit for the monument as part of a tour of the city.

This monument identifies El Salvador from any other countries. It’s a very special place to Salvadorans. Many activities start or end in here.

We drove by the monument but couldn't stop by as they were setting up for a Christmas event happening later that evening. Nonetheless, the monument is beautiful with Jesus sitting on top of the World.

This is an iconic spot and the profile of El Salvador. El Salvador means "The savior" . Great for people of religion.

I have nothing against the statue. And it makes sense that they have it. But just in case you are going to San Salvador and are looking for something to do, this isn't it. It's in the middle of a traffic circle, so you mostly just look at it as you drive by.

Located on a busy roundabout in central San Salvador, this statue of Jesus on top of teh world is a pretty good find. Most recent upgrade of it was in 2010. Local skateboarders seem to enjoy the area too. Crossing the busy roads to get to the centre of the roundabout is probably the only challenge involved here.

I passed by this monument, and couldn’t figure out what’s so beautiful about. The area is extremely busy, impossible traffic.
