Important part of visiting Salvador. Very well thought. Great transition from the historial paleontologist views to the modern anthropology of Salvador’s history and conflict. Some painful but important historical pearls. Excellent experience.

The MUNA is a small but well curated museum in the center of the city. From the gate to the ticket office and the collection, the staff is gracious and helpful. On the first floor there is a very helpful and bilingual overview of the...More

This is probably the biggest museum in San Salvador. Went with family and kids and had a nice time learning about regional culture. You can see all exhibitions in a couple of hours.

A good place to spend an hour or two. Its a pity that the small texts in every display are just in Spanish. A good translation to English would help.

An exceptional way to get a quick historical overview of El Salvador and Central America. It is dated in both it's presentation and upkeep, but ... Inexpensive. Broad range of topics. Clean. Good location.

Thankfully it was a cloudy day for the 2.3km walk south from our Morrison Hotel. After stowing our backpack and paying $3 each, we entered the main Hall of Migration with a multitude of exhibits: Indigenous settlement showcasing ceramics from a variety of archeological sites,...More

This museum covers in a good way most of the history of El Salvador. They have a Xipe Totec sculpture that I just love. IMO, the last floor, dedicated to Monseñor Romero, is too much information on a single character. However, to each its own.
