El Salvador is very small and cute! You can enjoy this trip and still have enough time to get a dinner on the beach!!!

On our tour of San Salvador, we visited El Boqueron. The views of the crater were great and you also get great views of the city. Too bad it started to rain on us. Still worth the drive up.

If you are in San Salvador... you have a great opportunity to drive up to San Salvador's volcano and visit parque "El Boquerón", which the national park that offers great views of the volcano's crater and also guided tours to descend right to the crater...More

It is a short and manageable climb on a reasonably decent path to viewing points overlooking the crater and cone.

For what you'd pay for a cab you might as well do a tour that will pay close you up at your hotel and explain what you're seeing on the way. I highly recommend Nahuat tours
