I started here after my walking tour and went straight to the Caves. Loads of people but quite an experience. FREE. But dress with hat or scarf and skirt (mine was short but I had no comments). I then visited a few of the churches...More

Very nice to visit. Was cold when we were there, but definitely worth a visit. Spend at least 2-3 hours and if you don't speak Russian/Ukrainian, go with an english guide.

The monastery is has a labyrinth of underground paths that monks used since awhile ago. There are remains of monks who lived there exhibited in the catacombs. Churches at the entrance are beautiful examples of Christian Orthodox

Really disappointed with our guide as it ruined our experience to The scared monastery caves of Kiev. Her attitude was very poor and I believe this started when we requested a second hand head scarf rather than purchasing one. She became un interested in us...More

Worth visiting. We got a dedicated guide who told us a lot of history, not only about the monostery but also about Ukraina.

Wont comment on the generic stuff as everyone writes the same same thing. If you visit the caves there is no need to buy a candle. Inside is lit enough each time you see a "coffin". Also many others have candles so you can focus...More

Ornate religious buildings line this iconic monastic complex, known for its network of catacombs. The tariff is inexpensive, I believe 50 hryvnia unless you go into museums and belfry. Amazing architecture! Also, no tariff on catacombs unless you want a tour guide.

As far as I am aware, the only part of the complex where photography was strictly forbidden - and rightly so - is in the actual Caves as they are a Holy site.

Yes, as noted by previous answers the churches on the grounds conduct services and require appropriate head covering and clothing for those that would like to gain entry
