this is the place where Rigas Fereos was executed- you can find this tower inside the periphery of the Callemegdan castle-it can also be seen from the river-when you take a riverboat tour

Although this building has a fascinating history, the displays inside do not address it. It is also not air-conditioned, and there is little air flow, so it is quite unpleasantly hot inside on warm days.

This solitary tower is included on the multiple-sight ticket for Belgrade Fortress, so you might as well come over and check it out. It has now been comprehensively restored by the Greek government, so it is again a good example of historic military architecture. There...More

If you want to see the history of Balkan and Serbia find some time and visit the old tower. It is rebuilt with the help of the Greek Governement since their hero Riga of Fere. Astonishing !

Unfortunately we could only visit the outside area of the tower. We went there on a December Monday only to find the doors closed and a rude guard that did not even speak English to point us at a sign by the road that said...More

Tower is located in one of the oldest parts in Belgrade - Kalemegdan fortress! So much history, beautiful.
