This is not a place that is visited by using the tour buses, but is still well within the Historic centre of Bucharest, so it is easy to find when using the map, which we obtained from the hotel. Although it is quite plain on...More

This memorial is a must as we must learn from history and prevent it from repeating itself. Good with memorial to initiate diskussion with the teenagers.

Ugliest Memorial that no one seems to care about! Littered with dog poo and rubbish, the locals don’t seem to care what this memorial is trying to represent and even then, it’s possibly the ugliest memorial going! Block concrete and rust! Surely the Jewish people...More

Well, you can't really miss it when you're in the area but it's also not much to it. It's worth a stop because any Holocaust memorial is worth a stop, reflection, and pay your respects.

a simple but emotionally moving place. A memorial to never forget . The tower in the front overseas the monument just as the stacks over the crematoriums.

After visiting the Palace of Parliament we decided to walk over to the Romania Holocaust Memorial only installed in the past decade. It is a very special, representative, minimalist memorial plaza with different elements which characterize the Holocaust in Romania when about half the Jewish...More

Another sad passage in our modern history... Presented visually and strong. As much as I hate it, this must be remembered.... Especially in times like now ...

The memorial is a simple concrete structure built in a hole in the ground, with very little explanation provided. The hole is lined with rusty steel plates and you can go into the building but there is no explanation of the names etched onto some...More

Locating a short walk from the Old Town in a residentially community. Although one may think an odd location, it makes sense as it represents those from the community of Bucharest that were persecuted and died. Stark - justifiably. Surrounded by local community residents having...More

No eternal flame here, but a simple concrete structure with a chimney. Finally in 2009 a memorial was built for over 300,000 Jewish and Roma Romanians killed at the orders of the fascist Antonescu government during WOII. Testimony also to the Jews from the Northwest...More
