Overview
More
One of the more striking things about this beautiful botanical garden is the fact that it is located right next to an industrial centre, complete with cooling towers, chimneys churning out everything nasty-looking, and nasty smells. That small problem aside, the garden is well kept and absolutely beautiful in the spring. While having a stroll, you'll come across impressive pine trees, a lily pond with waterfall and a herb garden. Bucharestians treat the gardens as a park, and on warm afternoons you may see more young lovers than plants. The huge glasshouses are open Tue, Thr, Sat, Sun, 09:00 - 13:00. Take bus 336 from Universitate to get there. Admission 10,000 lei (5,000 for children).

A bit difficult to find, but well worth the effort. Wonderful greenhouses, rose garden, shady paths. Excellent little cafe. Friendly staff who offered us the "seniors" reduction which made it a very cheap visit !

Do not bother with this garden. They are so rude. We walked into the gardens and then realized that we should have paid. So we went to the main entrance, only to be told the garden was shut because it was raining a little bit....More

Not a manicured garden but in the middle of an industrial area is this little oasis. Worth an hour or so if you like a slightly wild garden. We loved it.

When we entered, we enjoyed some orange juice freshly squeezed. The gardens have received several improvements. There are more flowers and plants well taken care of. There are more signs about everything around. The water pools look better. Overall, it was a much better experience...More

One of the worst botanical gardens in Romania. This was a huge disappointment. It seemed to me that everything was dry and withered and that the garden was not well taken care of. Instead of going to the botanical garden, go to any other park...More

The rose garden is so lovely. The aroma is magical. There are several areas dedicated to countries - such as the Italian garden and the Japanese island accessed by a quaint little bridge. Plenty of seats around to sit and reflect on life.

Lovely place, with beautiful garden of roses, relaxing atmosphere and birds singing. Cheap entrance. A coffe shop if you need to drink something or to buy a sandwich. A lake with ducks and japaness fishes. Enjoy the long and nice walk!

It is now named as Dimitrie Brandza botanic garden. It is located in Cotroceni, near the Palace. It is not very big compared to other European university Botanic Gardens, but very nicely laid out. The biggest attraction is the Rosarium in the center !! Each...More

7 Ron entry and a further 3 for the glasshouses. The latter are not as well utilised as they could be - lots of cactii. The rest of the gardens are good to walk round, though just a small refreshment kiosk. Much will depend upon...More
