Beautiful fort, well maintained and contains all of the history of the island with with their leather back conservation effort. If you're not a Portuguese speaker, you definitely need a guide to translate for you.

Interesting fort now a museum Contains splendid rooms full of colonial time material as well as items of interest from the independence movement. Good views from the upper levels. Luckily we had an English speaking guide. A very good introduction to this pleasant country.

Start your Sao Tome trip here and you'll get a good feel for the island and its history. Many of the rooms have been preserved very well.

I had a very nice guide who took me around the fort and explained things - not too much, not too little. He could sense where my interest lay and was painlessly accomodating. The museum is well worth a visit

This fort has several restored rooms which are quite interesting. There are good views from the top of the fort. The extra exhibitions are a bit dusty. Of note, you cannot wander around yourself. You must be guided by the museum keeper. Also, no photos...More

Wow! This is a touch above my pay-grade ... I am actually simply a traveller who happened to spend time in the wonderful country, and really can't thrown much light on their recreational habits or hobbies. Sorry!
