This spot on La Rambla was very busy every time we passed it--even at night. Catching a time when there were no people sitting or standing on the letters was a stroke of good luck.

We moved here a few months ago. We enjoy going to the sign day and night. It gets painted with different designs for every event. There's usually someone there who will do a drone photo for about $10. It gets crowded but it's a must...More

The main problem basically is that in general people do not respect each other. Everybody wants to take a good photo, with no other interference... So when there some people put their children on the sign letters and simply forget them there, or some other...More

Late April was in Montevideo and went to take pictures at Montevideo sign , quite far up along the seafront, after seeing photos of the snazzy coloured sign taken by friends in March. When we got there found that sign had been painted plain white....More

The Montevideo Sign is a popular photo opportunity. From this location you get a great view of the beach and waterfront buildings. When we visited in March the sign was painted for Carnival 2018.

We went in low season, and it’s worth the trek to it, but expect to wait if other people are there, especially families, we waitied for one family 20 mins, if you only want yourself in the shot, then it’s worth the wait.

I like the sign, but why is so popular. People taking pictures, seating on top of the letters, but why only montevideo, the full name San Felipe y Santigo deMontevideo will give extra room for all the turists and people won't have to wait for...More

Beside the Rambla there is Montevideo sign. After a long walk through whole rambla i reached the point. The green grass slopy nature of grounds attack me. Many people climb the sign and click photos.

The sign is nice, but the real reason to stop here is that there is a nice view of the beach and shoreline behind the sign. But the sign is a nice photo op, especially if you have kids who need to climb on something
