Visited at tail end of rainy season and was amazed at how much of a tourist trap it was. Do use a guide for the valuable information and really enjoy the fabulous ruins. Yes it IS ALL THAT and a BAG OF CHIPS!

This place is truly unbelievable. I recommend riding the bus to the entrance, save your energy and endurance to walk the archeological site. I do recommend a guide since there is a lot history you will miss without one. Visiting, stay in Cusco or at many of the inns where the train will drop you off, to catch the bus... More

Had a wonderful time at Machu Picchu. The weather was perfect and there was no hardship getting to the site and to tour the area. There is a place to stay right at the gate to the ruins called Sanctuary Lodge. It is a decent location to stay at and will save you time and money if you are spending... More

With a properly registered guide, MP becomes even more alive and the construction of this wonder of the world becomes even more of a mystery. This place is well worth the visit and once you are able bodied ... you can walk at any pace you like and can climb the stairs around MP at any pace you like. Its... More

Machu Picchu is a must on anyone's bucket list. It was one of the most awe inspiring sites of my life. As we approached the trailhead, we were asked by our guide if we were ready. Once the lost Incan ruins came into view, all one could do was stand in wonder and awe with one's mouth opened wide, gasping... More

I would rank my visit(s) (we went twice over the course of 2 days) to Machu Picchu as one of the most awe inspiring, breath taking things I've seen in my life. It ranks right up there with coming through the Siq in Petra and seeing the Treasury building, or in Egypt when you first see the Pyramids in the... More

We booked our Machu Picchu Trip with PeruTourism. We worked with Mayra Delgado and she accommodated us very professionally. We had to revise our itineraries from dates to number of travelers six times with no pain. And the response were almost the next day. At the airport in Lima we exchanged about $100 worth of Soles. After we picked up... More

If you go here during peak times you must get your ticket to enter ahead to time. They only allow 2400 each day. I booked thru the hotel I was staying at in cuscu. I went by car to the train station. It is 1 1/2hrs trip to base city. Then you take the bus to base. Then you walk... More

Do not stay at home, get out and commit the world. There are so many beautiful places to meet like the rivulets of Machu Pichu.
