During our hike up the mountain we were honored to get to this spot when the sun was coming up over the ruins.

The hike to the place is about 45 mins and quite easy compared to others not steep. The views along the hike is incredible. The view of Machu Picchu is just great! A really treat to your eyes. They close at 4am.

Nice walk from Machu Picchu, it will take you 2 hours roundtrip but some 30 minutes will be needed to stay there and enjoy the lovely inca walls and landscape.

Allow one to two hours to climb the path to the moon temple. Just as hard coming down as going up but if you take your time anyone should be able to do it. It will be worth while so JUST DO IT!!

The incas loved the sun and the moon, so i was expecting already something to do with either one of the celestial stars. Really marvelous to learn so much about inca life in general and their beliefs.

The Moom Temple is another spot in Machu Picchu worth seeing. A guide is preferable as they can give insight into the many different rooms, temples, and details you wouldn't normally know unless you are an Inca history buff.

So many temples within Machu Picchu, all for different elements and so lovely. Great to have a guide explain them all.

We visited Machu Picchu and the Huayna Picchu mountain. Someone recommended us to pass by the moon temple on the descent of Huayna Picchu. We regretted it!!! The moon temple and gran cavernas is nice to see but not really stunning. The detour is really...More
