Steep uphill hike that rewards you with an incredible view of Machu Picchu. Because of the altitude it’s breathtaking for many reasons, but if you take your time it’s manageable and so worth it! So glad we did this hike.

So glad I read in a blog about Huayna Picchu while planning my Peru tour, otherwise I would have missed it. Book it around 2 months in advance, it is so worth it...the view of MP is priceless :-)

It is worth to plan your trip to Machu Picchu considering the availability of the tickets to Huayna Picchu (400 per day, 2 turns). The hike is quite intense, and around 4 hours round trip (walking slowly), however it is doable even if you are...More

Takes about an hour to climb up and quite tiring but worth the view. Breathtaking view of MP and surrounding area! If you do early hike you can avoid hot sun. Would absolutely recommend if you're visiting MP.

I'm a bit afraid of heights, so when our guide pointed to Huayna Picchu and said we would be hiking to the top of it I was nervous. The hike, while steep and at times somewhat strenuous, wasn't as scary as I anticipated. There is...More

The climb is kind of difficult and I'm in my forties and was one of the oldest people attempting it, aside from a few japanese grandmas who flew up the stairs. I have lived my life at sea level, so the altitude was a particular...More

Unbelievable. Everyone should make this a top priority on their bucket list. Hiking both peaks was strenuous but worth it.

Although the hike is relatively short, it is very steep in places and the top is reached via narrow steep stairs. This is a hike doable by anyone in relative good shape. Not suitable for someone with extreme fear of heights though. The views from...More

A challenging but rewarding experience. This hike was filled with views that are impossible to describe. Only 400 people per day are permitted to hike, split between two morning sessions of 200 people each. The hike itself is straight forward, there are amazing drop offs...More

If you're experienced and fit enough to hike up lots of stairs (takes about an hour) then you should be fine. We went in July so it was dry but sun gets quite hot later in morning. Would recommend doing early time slot if... More
