The Casa de Fierro (Iron House) at Iquitos' main square was allegedly designed by French architect Gustave Eiffel. It hosts a British pub, where most foreigners gather.

It's in all tourism guide books... This is an old place, very classic. It used to be a restaurant in the 2nd floor there, but not anymore. Just in a corner of the main square, It is one of the principal attractions in the city.

The story is that it was designed by George Eiffel. Made of left over pieces from the Eiffel Tower, and shipped to Iquitos by mistake. It has an arts and crafts type shop, and a Pharmacy.

This one corner landmark looks like the French Quarter on the Amazon, if that city could possibly be more humid. This relic on the town square is low profile like the rest of Iquitos, and would stand out better if restored. Go with black painted...More

Eiffel's house is located just off the main square and is worth stopping by to see for a few minutes, perhaps with an ice cream in hand.

This building was made with the spares metal from the Eiffel tower from Paris and it architect was Eiffel. In there you can find stores and restaurants.
