The church itself is a great example of Spanish colonial high-catholic art & decoration. The place is full of artwork, carving & altar-pieces. The interior is dark and a little smoky. No photos are allowed inside the church or the cloisters. The former is lovely,...More

A 20 minute stop at this church and cloister are worth a short detour. You will find the architecture pleasing and there are coffee shops and picanterias to fill you up nearby.

Pretty little plaza with a fountain. Expensive shops to browse and a good restaurant (albeit expensive). Part of the center of Arequipa and close to all the other sites and museums.

The courtyard next to the church was pretty disappointing. The view was nothing.... One volcano across the top of ugly rooftops and a courtyard with some arches and complex carving. It's free but I would only bother to go in if you are walking past......More

The courtyard and cloisters are a lovely example of Baroque architecture from the 16th century. The design of the columns and workmanship of the main façade is stunning. This church was part of our tour through the Historic center which is designated a World Heritage...More

The Cúpula Policromada (multi-colored cupola) is the most beautiful place I've seen in Arequipa. Entrance to the church is free, but you must pay 10 soles to see the cupola. It is well worth it, The colors are vibrant and the entire room is painted...More

Better to go here in the afternoon, it can be included in a city tour so you get some info. The church is beautiful. Also the adjacent enclosed squares, full of beautiful masonry and with many shops and cafe/restaurants inside

The internal patio and the catedral are a good example of the Spanish Barroc. A gold decorate eglise.

It's a rare church that the exterior is better than the interior. Both are compelling, but if you have to pick, choose the outside.

The church and the courtyards (3 adjoining and access from the street) offer quiet, nice place for lemonade/coffee and shopping. The church and old paintings were great.
