Very interesting combination museum & shop.. They gladly show & explain the many steps of making the many styles they have to sell. They also welcome you to their upstairs viewing terrace where you can relax with a good cup of coffee. Highly recommend! No...More

Not sure what I was expecting, but if you're not looking explicitly to buy a hat, I would not recommend a visit. Pretty touristy, not much heart in the explanations, but hey, the hats are nice.

We visited both this establishment and the Homero Ortega facility near the bus terminal and this place pales in comparison. It feels a little tourist trappy. In all honesty the entire experience including an extensive tour was much better at Ortega.

Just returned from an AWSOME 2 weeks in Cuenca and Puerto Lopez, and wanted to buy a real Panama Hat, but didn't want to spend a fortune on it. Got the hat that I really wanted and getting two. LOVE IT. Thank you so much

This place has wonderful Panama Hats in all colors and shapes. Their variety is limited if you have a special requirement such as a larger head. The price is very reasonable and they do customize if you give them enough time. One is also provided...More

We were recommended this place, also called "Museo del sombrero", to check-out the process in creating handmade "Panama hats" which are in fact originally from Ecuador. They also have a superb shop, where they assist you in getting the right size hat, and personalize it...More

Went here to see the museum, which is quite small and best to ask someone to give you a tour (which they will do...though not too apparent). I thought it was very interesting to learn how the hats are made...the entire process. You can get...More
