This museum is located in the very same place where a group of nuns make a life sacrifice secluded from the outside world and live in constant prayer making beautiful arts and crafts and special sweets for sale. The museum also houses an impressive collection...More

Seniors' rate 2.50 each. English placards for most exhibits. No photos allowed. Several under-lit rooms. Lovely, well-tended courtyard gardens. The building itself, and the artifacts of convent daily life were more interesting to us than all the religious iconography, which seemed somewhat shabby & lower-quality....More

We were only allowed to see 5 rooms for "free" which was fine. They housed modern art exhibits and some art from the convent era itself. Nothing really special, but was interesting and we were walking by.

It is a good thing that this important landmark has been preserved and restored. It deserves all the attention it has received. And it deserves a few hours of time for anyone interested in Cuenca's history.

A lovely tour of 20 rooms filled with items of daily living and religious items from the hundreds of years of being a convent. Peaceful garden courtyards provided a good respite from the traffic noise of the neighborhood.

Interesting to walk though an old convent that has been partially restored. It's worth the $3.00 to absorb what was occurring in the religion so long ago. As I understand it there are still nun's living there, although we did not see any.

The museum is housed in what was originally the infirmary of the convent. The cost of admission was $3.50. A lovely guide, born in the US to Ecuadorian parents, gave us a private tour. Nuns (about 100) live in the cloisters but one has permission...More

Cloistered nuns are a thing of the past, so this makes this museum interesting four N. Americans. The architecture is beautiful and the nuns sell beautiful bread.
