Our hotel Carvallo was couple blocks from this town square. Lots of restaurants, shops, taxis, tourist info and great place to people watch. Very safe with lots of police and security for tourist so felt very comfortable going out in evenings.

Recommend visiting many times, and one of the visits should be with the free walking tour guide. Each corner of the plaza carries a lot of history about the country and the city. A great place to take pictures, have some ice cream and relax.

I love just sitting on one of the benches here and walking the people -- and there are also things to do, depending on the day: the occasional concert for example.

This is probably the most popular park/square in Cuenca. There are a lot of trees and benches to sit and relax. On Sunday there was a live band and there seemed to be a lot going on on Sunday near the Cathedral. There is a...More
