We learned alot about this artist who previously we hadn't heard of. Had a very interesting guided tour of his beautiful home (museum) and another guided tour of the art gallery of his work. A great off the beaten path place with stunning views over...More

The Guayasamin Museum (which is actually his house) and the next door Capilla del Hombre are a little off the beaten path and well worth it. We opted for the house tour first, which featured an excellent English speaking guide ad a wonderful tour of...More

An amazing experience overall! The museum complements the tour of Guayasamin’s incredible house. We thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth the walk from the centre even just for the view!

This museum, the homeof Guayasamin was one of the most interesting places we visited in Ecuador. The house itself is beautiful in its setting, but the paintings, the photos and the history of the place is fascinating. Of special interest is the video of Guayasamin...More

We enjoyed the house/museum better than La Capilla Del Hombre building. The collection of art pieces are displayed tastefully in the house. They are representative of the historical progression of art in Ecuador. It houses art by Guayasamin and others.

A surprising discovery of an unknown painter (for us...) who is very interesting. Some nice paintings of very famous other artists too (Picasso, Chagall, lot of marvellous drawings by Goya,...) and a lot of works of art by Guayasamin. The house is also very nice...More

The Guayasamin Museum is something everyone visiting Quito should do! The tour was informative and helped set context for the work of the most influential Expressionist artist of the modern world. The direct access in his house and studio takes you into his spirit, and...More

I did not know much about Guayasamin prior to visiting the museum, but I became obsessed after visiting. The amount of work displayed throughout the house is incredible. Every piece is strategically placed to tell a story, his story. I honestly felt as though I...More

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
