My wife and I visited with our daughter who now lives here, and it was also her first visit to this Museo. Absolutely first class and so cheap with a personalised tour. Good collection of artifacts as well as his brilliant art. A must visit...More

He is the most well known artist in Ecuador. And he gained this through his genuine art. The museum has 2 separate parts. The first one is actually his private home. It is a beutiful and architecturally interesting home in one of the classy neighborhoods...More

First, it is somewhat confusing to call this a Museum. When you arrive at the complex you are directed first to a Chapel, La Capilla del Hombre. Granted that in that chapel there are many paintings, but Guayasamin calls it a chapel - a secular...More

I had never known about the artist Guayasamin until coming to Quito. We took tours that taught us history of this area. Guayasamin’s art was in large part about war and the horrors of what we do to each other. He had a great heart.

Make sure you get the hotel to order the taxi as the unregistered ones are unreliable and twice we were dropped off miles away from our destination and had to hail down another taxi which isn’t always easy
