This relatively unadorned Lutheran church is beautiful in its simplicity and graces and stands prominently on Concepcion hill. Light green in color, it is striking. Stop by to view it.

Protestants in Chile are known as Dissidents, hence the "Dissidents Cemetery," which, while not as grand as the neighboring resting place for the more official Catholics, still is the final home for many of the early (and more recent) leaders of Valparaiso and Chile too....More

We like to visit local houses of worship during our world travels. Iglesia Luterana de La Santa Cruz de Valparaiso was not a destination, but rather an opportunity during our visit to Valparaiso .

We were shown the Lutheran Church in Valparaiso from across the other side of the gorge(?), near the entry to the 'Ascensor Reina Victoria" funicular railway down. Certainly looked fantastic and a great view.

Lovely building full of history and the symbol of a time gone when Catholics could not have other people around. Thank God this has changed and now this building is as impressive as any Catholic church. Worth seeing and getting to know about it.

We passed this Lutheran church when taking our guided tour through Cerro Concepcion and other interesting areas of Valparaíso. Unfortunately it was closed and so we did not get to see inside and the impact of its recent renovation. It has an imposing exterior which...More

We didn't go in but this was a large church along our walking tour. You can't miss it. It was the first non-Catholic church in the city and that was a big deal at the time. It is well maintained and beautiful. Built for the...More

We went there as part of the Valparaiso Free Tour. It was the first non-Catholic church built in the city. As such, they didn't even put a cross on it, trying to maintain a low profile. It's in an interesting area of Valparaiso. Worth walking...More
