Good respit from city, with places to recline on grass or sit on a bench. Quiet fountains. Did not enter the castle (closed that day). Security helpful with directions, keeps list of countries of travelers.

Old castle on hill in middle of the city provided a very pleasant escape from the city crowds.
Many stairs and paths to get to the top for views of the city but also plenty of drinks stalls along the way.

it seems like just a little hump in the city till you climb up it. depending on which side you attack it from. there are some Incan style stairs leading up and it is kind of steep. from the top you get a great view...More
Located at the top of Cerro Santa Lucia, there's not much left of the castle but the picturesque walls. However, you come here for the magnificent views of Santiago and the snow-capped Andes in the distance.
The park is only accessible to tourist vehicles, locals are requested to walk from street level to the summit. From the upper car park there is still a steep climb up a series of stone stairs to the viewing platform on the tower top. Views...More
