Having been to see the German colonisation statues it was just a short walk across the Plaza de Armas to visit the cathedral.

We went there on a Sunday when they had Sunday service, everything is made out of wood. Outside is prettier than inside. A bit dark inside because of dark wood. It's in the center of the town.

It was closed when we visited, but the outside is a wooden structure with touches of a Greek temple. The wood is left natural and the bell tower is stylish and fits with the architecture

A church modeled, at least nominally, after the Parthenon in Athens (based on info in a sign near the church). It is constructed of native woods and worth a walk through,
