We walked into Angelmo from the cruise ship pier, primarily to visit the handicraft market. It was mostly touristy souvenirs (with some exceptions). The prices did seem to be lower than some of the other areas we visited.

.......Instead, with your back to the sea turn left, You walk alongside the road which is lined with small shops and stalls selling arts and crafts and the usual tourist tat. At the end, you enter the quaint fishing wharf and harbour of Angelmo. There is a large outdoor/indoor produce market and it is particularly fascinating looking at all the strange looking types of fish and shellfish on display, When you have finished browsing the market, you can usually see seals in the harbour area.
The market area is lined with quaint two storey timber buildings many of which are small bars/restaurants selling authentic local dishes at really cheap prices. Be prepared though because most will only accept local currency - check before you order!

This market is quite small and has a lot of restaurants and a few souvenir shops associated with it. When the boats are in it is possible to also see a few sea lions waiting for fish scraps. Close access to cruise ship passengers, and more picturesque than the town.

This is a local fish market where you can see the fresh catch of the day or buy smoked and cured salmon.

It also has a souvenir section and towards the back it has a great view of a bay.

This is a most go site.

Here you will see all the boats bringing not just the fish, but vegetables and beef from Chiloe area. Very picturesque and the only sight worth seeing in Puerto Montt, our least favorite town in Chile.

A pleasant enough place to stroll. Most shops offer a similar range of uninspiring crafty items. The food section at the end of the road might offer diners more, but I didn’t partake.

Great visit and experience. Lots of variety of seafood and inexpensive too. Bought a cooked Alaskan King crab for US$12. It was fresh and delicious.

I really like this place for shopping ponchos, woolen clothes, socks and decoration stuff. Also you can find good cheese, jams, honey, fish and seafood there.

BUT ONE THING REALLY SUCKS: Once you arrive, every meter you will be spoken to by a different lady, trying to convice you to go to one of the restaurants. They are really annoying and only see you as "walking money". The restaurants are regular, you can eat good in some, but for the same price, you can eat elsewhere in nicer places (yet not that "typical"). Those ladies will not leave you in peace, even if you tell them you already know where you will eat of that you would like to chose for yourself. with my family we decided not to eat there again, only buy stuff.
