I visited Bleaker Island earlier this month, whilst visiting my partner who is currently working in the Falklands. The cottage accommodation is brilliant, very clean and comfortable and although we bought food with us, the island store room is available to buy most things which...More

This time around we were in the Falkland Islands and Chile. Reflecting over our two weeks, Bleaker was the highlight. It rained, it snowed, the wind blew a gale and to everyone else, this was the wrong time of year to visit. But we loved...More

Comfortable accommodation, well placed. Incredible wildlife only a walk away. We had a bit of a storm overnight, which was quite an experience. Recommend for Imperial shags, rockhopper and gentoo penguins, sealions and some incredible walking.

What can I say? From the FIGAS flight in, the ‘transfer’ in four wheel drives, past the gentoo penguin colonies, past the Magellanic penguin burrows, past the blue eyed shag colony to the tiny settlement, our stay on Bleaker Island succeeded only in wanting to...More

I cannot rate Bleaker Island highly enough. We had our honeymoon here. Mike and Phyl Rendall could not have been better hosts than they were, Elaine was helpful and, together with the chef (whose name I cannot remember), produced wonderful food - in fact it...More
