Yes it is a bumpy ride to get to Vounteer Point In the Falklands but it is worth it and takes about two hours or little less to get there but once there you can literally walk amongst the penguins in their own habitat. Have...More
Tony arranged to pick us up from Stanley a little later than scheduled to avoid the cruise ship tours. He was friendly and informative as he drove along roads that became progressively smaller, until for the last hour or so they vanished altogether. We watched...More
A long, bumpy, fun ride through wasteland to get there. Deserted except for a small ranger station and visitor's shack - and thousands of penquins. The place to go to see these little guys. Three species - mostly Kings.
Volunteer Point is a “must” if you are visiting the Falkland Islands. Thanks to Jimmy Curtis of Volunteer Point Tours and Sue our driver, we had an amazing day.
Travelling is mainly "off-roading" and we were glad that the weather was fine, not sure about...More

We went on Jimmy Curtis' tour and we booked it primarily because the cruise lines ones were already full but he goes to the same spot at the cruise lines and he is less expensive especially because we had a larger party. He also gets there faster than all of the bus tour groups from the ships so you have a little time at the beginning with the penguins before everyone else shows up.
