Overall a good experience. Great massage and nice lunch but that’s all we saw of Batam We were told our driver would be waiting at ferry terminal in Batam but he was no where to be seen. After waiting for 20 mins I asked the information desk to call the travel agent and then the driver suddenly appeared. Nice man but very poor English so communication was sketchy. We didn’t get to go to the Monument and when we arrived at the cake shop there was nothing to taste For the price we paid felt a little ripped off I realise this was express trip but overpriced

Dear valued guest, We thank you for your positive feedback about our traditional Indonesian massage and lunch feast, and have forwarded your compliments to the masseurs and chefs. We sincerely regret about your disappointment with the driver. There are currently significant labour shortfalls and escalating costs in the hospitality industry following the border reopenings, and we admit that the driver was recently hired in a hurry. However, that is no excuse for his lackluster service, and we had since given him a final warning and stern re-training. Finally, in case if you are back in Batam in the future, please do call us again, and we will be happy to extend a complimentary 1-hour massage for you and your partner at our massage centre. We wish you all the best for your future travels.

Part of my bias is likely due to the rain. It was a good tour, but obviously some of the out door stuff was a bit problematic. So be careful of this during the rainy season. Lunch was delicious and the massage was great, as was out tour guide. I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a day away from Singapore.

I had read several good reviews about a day-trip to Batam and decided to take one of my few days in Singapore to do that. What a huge mistake! There was nothing worth seeing there that couldn’t be seen other places or that were worth the visit. The massage and the kart ride were OK, but we didn’t need to go all the way there to do that. No interesting landmarks (the Barelang bridge pales compared to all the architectural landmarks in Singapore), and the temples were nothing special nor historical. The visit to the coffee factory is a real tourist trap: I told the guide that neither my son or I drank coffee but he still took us there just to sit in a closed room to hear him try to sell us souvenir packages of coffee. Also, my guide barely spoke any English, so it was extremely hard to communicate. Finally, the lunch was also very disappointing, as we couldn’t choose what we ate (the meal was pre-set and despite seeing some good alternative in neighboring tables, we had to stick with the bland fish and sea snails they had given us). I had wished to discover a bit of Indonesia but left that country never wanting to go back. What a disappointment!

Dear valued guest, We sincerely regret to hear about your disappointment with the Civet Coffee factory visit. Civet Coffee aka "Cat Poop Coffee" is not exactly a "gimmick trap". It is a unique type of Indonesian coffee that consists of partially digested coffee cherries, which were eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet. Upon consultation with your guide, we concluded that there could be some misunderstanding due to the differing local English slang that you didn't drink coffee, and the confusion that resulted. We had since sent your guide for a year-long language course to improve his English. With regards to your feedback over the 2 types of seafood with chicken and vegetables that you received over lunch, we will discuss it with the restaurant for future improvement. Finally, we agree with you that Indonesia is still a developing country and the infrastructure and architecture shows, as compared to developed countries like the US and Singapore. Nonetheless, we strive our best to showcase the real side of Indonesia to all guests in the best light possible. We hope to have you back in better circumstances when Indonesia has achieved developed country status. We thank you for your positive feedback about the massage and go-kart, and have forwarded it to the activities team. We wish you all the best for your future travels.

I can not thank our driver Aulia enough for giving us a fantastic day in Batam. Sites visited were very interesting, shopping at best places, meal and resturant perfect location, massage enjoyable. She took us to all the best photo opportunity spots. Her kind and helpful nature made our trip. There was three in our party and the value and content for this trip eas excellent. Thank you Aulia.
