Neighbourhood: Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.

gamblers delight

No I didn't win big. But I did recoup some losses.

MBS is perhaps my preferred Casino to play at. The ambience is clean and fresh. The dealers are well trained. And if you pick the right game, you can walk away with a small win. (just don't be greedy)

Avoid at all costs.

Huge let down like many things in Singapore. It looks nice from the outside but it's a dump tbh. The don't serve drinks after 10:30 but everyone in there is smoking their faces off. I went in for my first and last time to play black jack for a bit with a couple hundred to lose (as I've heard nobody wins here). I went to a table with an attractive young lady dealer. Big mistake. It sucked the whole time she rinsed me. She had zero personality, her eyes were dark like a sharks with no emotion and no feelings. It was the worst gambling experience of my life, not because I lost, that's always the case, but because there's no life in there, there's no entertainment, it's just a big cesspool of dirty dealers waiting to take your money.

Still a nice place to play, despite Covid restrictions
Nov 2020 • Solo
Current Covid restrictions has taken away some joy from gaming at MBS Casino. However, despite the hassle, it is still very pleasurable to play. The staff are kind and helpful and some go out of their way to make the gambling experience enjoyable... and if you win (big), then it is memorable.

Excellent service
Mar 2020 • Friends
I will like to commend MBS and their staffs on their excellent service. Mr Zhuang Cai Zhong(security office) and Alice(slot machine staff) helped me with my lost ticket with patience and professionalism, they took time to explain and solved my predicament in a short and efficient manner. Words cannot describe the extend of my gratitude towards their hospitality, truly appreciate. Thank you for the pleasant experience, be sure to visit more often.

Ginormous!!!
Jun 2019
The Marina Bay Casino is ginormous and pretty. Seems very calm and clean. Few floors and restaurants. There's a fee for locals. Foreigners have free entry, but make sure you have your passport as it will be checked during entry and exit. Couldn't figure out if there was poker.

Autonomous Robot
Dec 2019
Unfortunately smoking in the casino still exists in this modern day, and is prevalent at the Marina Bay Sands Casino. I toured around the casino just to check it out, and the most interesting thing I saw was an autonomous robot that wanders around serving non-alcoholic drinks.

There was a long line up to get in, which I find very odd, however security was validating passports. What I found interesting when I spoke to the agent at the entrance was that Singaporeans have to pay $150 SGD for entry, but foreigners get in free, which shows you how the government discourages their own citizens from the pleasures of vices.

Other than the autonomous robot this was not an exciting casino to be in, especially when I compare it to all the casinos I have been to in Las Vegas over the years.

A Casino Without Poker?
Jan 2020
I am a 47 year-old woman who probably isn't an obvious patron. Nevertheless, it was very friendly and not in the least bit intimidating.

If you're Singaporean/Malaysian then you have to pay S$150 for entry. If you're a foreigner, you get in free. Check in all bags (although handbags/purses are allowed). PASSPORT is essential, it will be checked both on entry AND exit.

Smoking is pervasive throughout, so GREAT for smokers (as Singapore is a notoriously smoking-UNfriendly place), but it makes no sense that the only non-smoking floor is on the upper floor. Everyone knows that SMOKE RISES. Go figure.

There are robots offering free soft drinks, but alcoholic drinks are very difficult to find. Also, poker is not big here. I came in search of Video Poker machine or, at worst, live Poker tables. But they don't do poker, they just don't. It's all Roulette, Baccarat, Craps or Slots. NO POKER. Which is just weird. And highly dissatisfying.

It's still easy to lose a whole day here gambling, but it's equally easy to waste the same day people-watching. I sat by a guy at a Slots machine who put in S$7500 (c. £4300) and all he did was press the 'Spin' button while texting.

This is also a great place to come and see the 'Chinese Mamas'; very rich wives dripping in jewellery, who have a 'special' machine they choose to play for HOURS, and woebetide anyone (especially a tourist) who decides to sit by that particular machine at the time that Madam shows up.... ouch!
