Away from Bali but not really

Amazing trip! We stayed at Menjangan Dynasty which has the best views and the tent was so cozy.

Decided to contact Pak Idris because of all the good reviews in tripadvisor. Definitely would recommend!

We did the savannah trekking and scuba diving - both were beautiful and Pak Idris knew everything about the flora and fauna both under and above water.

Will pass on the good deed found in tripadvisor and post pak idris’ number here - 082340185768. Really recommended for activities in the park!

Overall would recomment the national park- worth the 3-4 hour drive up!!

AMAZING TRIP !
Apr 2021 • Family
We saw the review on Tripadvisor and decided to contact Pak Idris.

We did the tracking trip to the National Park and it was amazing.
Pak Idris is very knowledgeable about the native plants (most are medicinal and rare) also the animals.
We saw a group of Black Monkey, Bali Myna, Blue Sterling, teeth bones of deer, lots of wild boar footprints.

The walk to the top of the hill was amazing and our kids loved it !

Just be careful that the thick savannah grass are sharp and sticks on cotton !

Definitely contact Pak Idris again on our next trip.

Highly recommended! Amazing trip for our family
Oct 2020 • Family
We had so much fun with pak Idris! We joined for tracking and snorkeling tour. He’s very knowledgeable of the plants and animals. We were able to spot a few families of the black monkey, bali starling, deer at the park. The hike brought us up to an amazing view of the ocean and the islands. It was our son’s first time snorkeling and it was wonderful. We had our prepared lunch and brought in some fruits from his garden to share with us on the island. The island was absolutely beautiful with the crystal clear blue water. My kids had fun playing on the beach and the shallow water. Pak Idris is very attentive and met us before our tour to make sure everything is communicated well and took care of our special requests for the lunch.

We had an incredible experience yesterday with Idris, He was our tour guide and took us though the west coast national park, he was very good at explaining the nature around us and tracking the animals that live in the park!!
We spotted deer, monkeys and eagles 🦅 and the famous white Bali bird,
He then took us by boat to a a snorkeling spot and wow the fish and coral were the best I have seen in a very long time, he was great with the kids and would highly recommend Idris and the tour to anyone coming to the west of Bali, it’s beautiful.

Fantastic biking and snorkeling with Idris
Feb 2020
We spent a fantastic day with Idris in the National Park. The day before we visited the park, Idris met us in our Hotel and made sure, that we knew what was waiting for us and that we choose the best activity. You can choose between sunrise-boat trips, birdwatching, trekking, cycling and snorkeling or combine them however you want.

The bike tour was very nice, but at the end of the ride we were really tired! The path is not really flat, so do this tour, if you are used to ride bikes in uneven terrain. The snorkeling after lunch, in the middle of the tour, was just great!

Idris was a fantastic guide, he showed us many different animals and plants. We also had a lot of fun learning a bit of Balinese with him!

The tour was planned to take 4-5 hours, but in the end it took us a lot longer and we still payed the same price, which was nice.

If you want to contact Idris, just write him a Whatsapp message:

Amazing trip to West Bali National Park with Idris!
Feb 2020
Just got back from wonderful trip with tour guide, Idris. WhatsApp contact info: +62 823-4018-5768

I HIGHLY recommend booking a trip with Idris.
This is ESPECIALLY true if you are interested in birdwatching! He was AMAZING!
He was able to hear ANY bird and know what species it was and keenly locate it! Really mindblowing 'eye' for spotting birds!!!

He also knows allllll the trees, AND their medicinal benefits and expertly guide us through the forest that would have been impossible w out him!
Really fabulous to see a true expert at work!

And Pak Idris is just plan a lovely, wonderful man, with a wonderful heart!

Our trip to this park without such a guide would have just been like 10% as amazing as it was. And was great to be able to support the local economy!!

I HIGHLY recommend Idris! +62 823-4018-5768

Wish we'd skipped it
Feb 2020
In retrospect, we wish we'd skipped this part of our 10-day trip to Bali. The drive up from Ubud was lovely and the most interesting part of this trip segment. The resort where we stayed in Pemuteran was lovely and well run, although not as "homey" as the homestay that we left and ultimately returned to for the remainder of our stay.

The turtle sanctuary in Pemuteran was another draw for us and another reason to make the trip up to the northwest, but another disappointment. There was one box filled with sand that included some buried eggs (which you couldn't see because they were buried, so it just looked like a sand box). There was a tank with about a dozen young turtles swimming around, then another tank with a large turtle swimming in circles. Done.

The National Park was, frankly, an expensive disappointment (2,800,000 rupiah for a day with the guide to do bird watching and a jungle safari). We didn't realize that the "park" was actually segmented places interspersed with bunches of villages and regular traffic, with lots of trash everywhere. The cobbled road into the jungle part of the park was incredibly rough (bumpy) and uncomfortable. Although there were some black monkeys - very cool to see - they were in distant trees (they're very shy) and there weren't that many of them. The ubiquitous Macaque monkeys were everywhere, not unique. We saw a few wild hogs, which were nothing special, and a few deer, again nothing special. Overall, we spent 1-1/2 uncomfortable hours bumping our way in to the end of the road, then 1-1/2 uncomfortable hours bumping our way back out again. Good thing the spa at the resort had great massages!

Overall, I'd say skip this and see another part of the island instead.

amazing snorkeling tour with Idris
Feb 2020 • Couples
We just spent a beautiful half day snorkeling in the West Bali National Park with our great Guide Idris. The underwater world there is fantastic, it felt like in an aquarium. It did not feel like normal snorkelling more like scuba diving from the variety of fish and corals. Idris showed us 2 spots and we had a very nice lunch on the island at the beach. I can strongly recommend this tour with Idris, was a blast!
