Without doubt the easiest and most efficient way of getting around Hong Kong. Get an Octopus card at the airport for seamless travel on MTR, buses, Star Ferry, etc. If you're over 65, get a Senior card for very low fares.

MTR is the key to healthy and convenient public commutation in HK. It is very well planned and easy to understand Love the use of high end technology for ticket booking i.e. direct cash machines, octopus card loading machines

The MTR is crowded but efficient. The stations are clean, however some can be confusing as many have several exits. The signage is very easy to follow as all signs are in both Chinese and English.

The mtr is a great way to get around the city. Air conditioned and not too crowded off peak. The ticket system is easy and all signs and announcements are in English as well as Cantonese and Mandarin.

The ease of the system is amazing. It is so easy to get on and off and with the octopus card it is made easier. The staff at the information counters are always helpful and most speak English

Our hotel was a couple of minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR station. The MTR is a quick way to get around and easy to navigate. It is somehow familiar, like the London Underground but new and clean. I have still not deleted the app...More

Quick, efficient, clean and runs like clockwork. Fortunately for us, the hotel was literally a 4 minute walk to the nearest station (in future, distance to the MTR will determine location of hotel). No eating or drinking is allowed, hence no rubbish or litter. We...More

Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you
will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong

Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma
Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on
their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area
makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in

Taxis aren’t very expensive in HK but I would still opt for the Airport Express as you will get to that before you get to the taxi rank. Then take a taxi to your hotel after you arrive at HK station from the airport. It’s... More
