Getting around Hong Kong couldn't be easier than with MTR. As MTR lines cover all major districts, it is quick and convenient to explore the whole city. There are nine commuter rail lines with easy interchange as well as a Light Rail network and...more

This is certainly one of the better rail systems I've encountered. Trains are very frequent, they are easy to access especilly with an Octopus card, they cover a large part of HK (and extensions are underway), they are clean and they are cheap. One other...More

Time schedule is their management priority because they'll be fined by government on time delay due to problems. The management looks after stock holders more than customers. Don't expect good customer service. Personal bad experience were hit by train doors and no response after complaint...More

Very intuitive, convenient and cheap. In the four 4 days we were in Hong Kong that’s all we ever used. Most trains go every two minutes.

What can I say, it is the subway. But it is incredibly easy to use. The rout maps are clearly marked. On the newer trains, the maps are electronic and blink to indicate the station you are arriving at. All of the entrances/exits are numbered...More

One of the easiest underground systems we've used around the world. Clean, cheap and with free wifi. Even in such a busy country, no delays, all seems to run smoothly.

The system is very efficient, fast and signature is clear. The fair is reasonable for HK $300 it last us for a week and we still have money balance on the Octopus card. Cabins are fully air-conditioned, hygienic and clean. Plenty of shops and convenient...More

We found it easy to get information about a card you can fill up, and easy to buy and use, and a great convenience even if you are a tourist for short time.

Ticket machines and platform signage written in Chinese and English helps. Route map can be confusing at times but easy once you get used to it, recommend planning your route in advance to avoid any problems. Only criticism is there should be more escalators for...More

Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you
will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong

Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma
Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on
their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area
makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in
time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the
