We went in the early morning and had the same experience as others - vendors shouting at us, shoving items at us and trying to block our way. But not everyone was like this - Anna from Stall 36 quietly asked us what stall we...More

I stepped into the Jade Market and went directly to see Sandy. I emailed her beforehand to arrange a day and time (sandychung_ypt@hotmail.com). If you want pearls, she is the person to see--all kinds, shapes, colors, with sterling silver or gems. Her inventory is amazing....More

We went out of our way to visit the Jade Market. It was a horrendous experience. As soon as you walk through the door they start hassling you and showing you crap you are not interested in. You walk on, they don't let you look...More

Be careful here, so fakes are mixed in with the real thing, so have been dyed, others enchanced, others super glued. Don't spend a lot money unless you are a true expert.

I went on a slow rainy afternoon and didn't get hassled at all by any vendors. I was able to take my time and had a great interaction with Ki Ki from stalls 184, 1985 and 159. She speaks great English, is very friendly and...More

Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you
will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong
Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong
Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma
Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on
their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area
makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in

Is difficult to say but am sure there would be someone at the market willing to negotiate. But you probably won't get the value for it. They are shrewd business people.
