Little visited, the museum has a quality collection with changing exhibits. When I was there, some Chinese porcelain and water colors were on display as well as some European etchings and Chinese modern art. Tell the guard at the university gate that you want to see the museum.

A nice museum, tucked away in the lush park that is the Peking University Campus. I visited two special exhibitions (an exhibit of an archeology project for school children and an exhibit of European 17th century etchings that had been donated to the museum). As there was repair work going on, I did not have the opportunity to look at the spectacular Chinese art that the museum has. Except for some stunning statues and large objects. Definitely worth going!

This little museum is quite unknown but worth a visit. I had organised a tour there and we were offered a guide who explained some of the artifacts. The University campus is justly famous and I recommend a stroll around. There are some eateries just opposite the gate and there are also some parking-places should you drive there.

This museum is on the campus of Peking University in the Haidian Distrcit. I was a student at Beida (Peking University) and I just showed my student ID when I arrived. I am not sure if there is a fee for non-students. I was literally one of three people besides the museum guards in the museum when I visited. There were many fascinating pieces of art and it was very interesting. I'm glad I went but I would probably not have known about this museum had I not been studying at Beida.

The Sackler in Beijing has a fine collection of early bronzes and pottery, the captions in english are very good and descriptive. Furthermore, it´s location is very nice in the Peking University campus: you can either walk about 10 minutes from the subway station at the west gate through the on-campus nice park, or you go to the east gate (closer) and walk a few minutes. Another option is to go to the Yuanmingyuan subway stop, which is about a 15 minute walk northeast from the east gate. It´s really worth an hour or two, absolutely so, if you are in the area of the summer palaces, whether new or old, both are rather close.
