About
Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 290-acre park is still a retreat for the crowd-weary tourist, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, stopping occasionally at a shop or tea-house.

We came in via north gate from the subway. We arrived around 8:30 am after traveling around an hour from city center. Yay for jet lag! But really, since most Chinese attractions seem to be best visited early in the morning before the large tour...More

Worth the effort to get here. Try the local crepe-cracker egg dish at the convenience store on your way in and grab some picnic supplies. Everything is stunning. Enjoyed a boat ride and ice cream.
