This section of the Temple of Heaven is popular, however there is plenty of room still to move amongst the crowd when we were there. Temple of Heaven has an interesting history and it is very closely related to Christianity/Genesis.

If you're pressed for time, this is the one place within the sprawling Temple of Heaven compound that you HAVE to visit. This is where the Emperor would come to pray to Heaven for a good harvest every year.

It’s a beautifully restored circular building. The blue-glazed roof tiles of the Prayer Hall and the green-glazed roof tiles of the fence were absolutely beautiful.

The shape & colours are very lovely - very photogenic - Forbidden City building look stark by comparison.

It was really quite an experience to learn about the prayers for good harvest. The building itself is beautiful as are all the buildings in the Temple of Heaven complex.

A beautiful building and must see when in Beijing. Situated in a rather lovely park, where you can wander around and see the everyday life of the locals.

The temple itself is an amazing place with the surrounding park. The aproach to the temple is impressive sitting high on its elevated platform and grand stairs on four sides.

Great walks through the park to visit the various temples that make up the temple of heaven complex.
