About us: Mathare Children Fund panairobi (MCFp) is an NGO offering school education and vocational training for former street children in Mathare slum. One of MCFps income generating projects are the city walking tours. All tour guides are beneficiaries of the school program who have finished high school and are now in higher education. Through the income of the tours they are able to finance their studies. All proceeds from the tours go to the guides and to MCFp for financing school fees. MCFp has been active for more than 15 years. It is mainly funded by donors in the USA and Europe.

The tour was incredible. The tour was highly personalized as we explored the Saravo Stanley hotel and the McMillan Library. I enjoyed the historical walk through of the hotel from colonization through the modern era.
