I have seen this mosque in one of online guides recommended to visit in Nairobi.

I would not say it is a must to see in Nairobi… over all 20-30 minutes would be enough to take a few pictures…You should come when there is no paying going on – I came at 3 PM on Friday.

You might be stopped by a security guard who would consult with the chief security whether to let you have a tour inside. I did pass the screening 

Overall the mosques is nice and beautiful, but again nothing special.

Jamia is the Arab word for 'gathering', a well-chosen name as originally people of Islamic faith early 1900s had few options to come together. Many of these people were working on building Kenya's railways and hailed from the British ruled Indian subcontinent.

The construction of the mosque was completed in 1933. A new wing was added in 1998. Though the complex is sizable, the interior feels rather intimate, almost homely. The believers are polite and friendly. One of the guards accompanied me inside and showed me around without being obtrusive.

Though its the largest mosque in kenya...Its ridiculous how you can add a mosque to this list, or is Nairobi out of roaming places :)

Jamia mosque is not just any mosque in Kenya. It is one of the most iconic mosques in Kenya and one of the most well maintained and most visited by the muslims. At any given time of the day, you can find at least a 1000 people praying at the same time and during Jumma prayers, the number goes upto 5,000 or even more.

This serves as the center for all the Nairobi Muslims since it is in the Central Business District. Therefore, convenient for all those working in the city. It is next to the Macmillan Library, Tropez and Nation Center (a leading national media house). Its inspiring to see all the muslims go for prayers especially on Fridays and during the Holy month of Ramadhan. The best thing is to avoid driving along the street there on those days from noon, and especially on Ramadhan when they have the road closed on Fridays.

Very interested in visiting a mosque, it is biggest in the central Nairobi, even if you need to pay some tips to learn, but it was worth , you know how many times each day to pray, what time to pray, how cleaning when you want to pray ,many times to clean with sequence。

If not for somebody, Probably I will never learn these things. Thanks for that.
