A must see. Do your research on the history and how they moved this wonderful temple to the island. The small boats you take to the island are driven by Nupian people. This is a great way to see the island from afar and meet...More

The temple is nice to visit at daytime to enjoy the sun and views all around. Inside it's cool because of the thick walls. You have to take a boat there, which is kind of a hassle as there are different boats for foreigners and...More

Kind of like Abu Simbel-lite if you can't get there. This temple was also relocated to save it from the rising waters when the dam was built, but it's from a different era and is worth a visit. The temple is reached only by boat....More

Arriving by boat visiting the temple offers huge insight of history. Unbelievable that they have moved the temple in order to preserve it while building the high damm.

Located on Agilkia Island, the temple honours Isis. If you are fortunate to visit in the late afternoon, the setting sun casts shadows on the stones that add an aura to the beauty of the temple and the island in general. Well worth a visit.

Yes there are many boats to take you to the temple. You have to "tip" them however.
