For Pyramid lovers, this is a must. Difficult to get to. Would not try to visit this one without a knowledgeable guide. Another of those early failed pyramids that architecturally was not sound and was subsequently abandoned. There is a great unused burial chamber. The...More

This pyramid was on the outskirts of Cairo and was truly incredible! It was an unusal setting compared to the Great Pyramids of Giza and we got to experience more in depth og the makings of the pyramids. This complex also had many underground tunnels...More

Lovely tomb to go into but difficult and not for folks who dislike small spaces. Guard expect a small tip. Well worth the drive.

The first prototype of the true pyramid, it is worth the long drive to see one of the smallest pyramid temples and interiors. Go into the Mastaba 17 robbers' tunnel. A mallet from the grave robbing is still in place holding up the sarcaphagus lid.
