Part of the Giza pyramids. We managed to get quite close and take excellent pictures. Get somebody to tell you the different stories of a missing nose. The craftsmanship is still unbelievable.

A lot has been said about the Sphinx, it’s purpose, it’s size, it’s age all unknown despite what we are being told, nevertheless it’s an amazing wonder the Egyptians left the world to gaze upon.

You've seen it in books, magazines, documentaries, and perhaps in your dreams, but until you see it up close and personal you ain't seen it at all.

i enjoyed seeing the sphinx. It is amazing if not as grand as the pyramids themselves. If you are there of course you are doing to see it and considering that it is 4500 years old, it is in excellent shape

We were part of the Viking Pathways of the Pharaohs trip, so all accommodations were arranged for us. The hotels in Cairo at the beginning and end of the trip were wonderful.
