If you want to travel to Cairo than choose your hotel in Zamalek area. It's tourist friendly area. Little costly compare to other areas like Maadi, etc but you will find all thing near by... Like Cairo Museum, downtown shopping center, Giza Pyramid, Nile river,...More

The Island is right at the heart of the city, it has relatively a lot of green and some nice spots to sit and watch the Nile or rent a boat to go on the river. We didn’t find the Island that special, it does...More

Zamalek is very lively and colorful island surrounded by the Nile river. Lot of embassies are settled down there, many interesting trees, the place is full of art galleries, craft shops etc. It is a favorite place for foreigners, there are few nice pubs ;)

Don't think you might enjoy walking round this island. You probably wont! As for walking round it -that's a joke amidst fat moving maniac car and scooter drivers and non existent pavements. Its full of very busy streets in a very polluted city. If you...More

Stayed in the Hilton Residency. Somewhat disappointed with it but it's not what I am reviewing. Zamalek is an upscale urban area. A lot of embassies and security here, it's not the same as being in Giza or Haram. It's too secluded from the normal...More
