The area of ancient Egypt contains the three religions of the heavenly Christian, Jewish and Islamic, and we see the most important monuments of the outstanding synagogue, the father of Sarja, the Jewish temple and the Mosque of Amr ibn al-Aas
The Coptic Museum and Churches is one if the better kept attractions in Cairo. The place is fairly clean with not too many hawkers selling tic tac. The inside of all the churches are clean and well cared for. Its well worth a visit.
We visited various of the old Coptic churches including those linked with the Roman time. I found them interesting and relatively non-commercial. I would recommend this activity particularly if you want to know something of the early Christian history of Egypt.

Laura we used Private Guide Ayman Ahmed. You can look him up on facebook or through Trip Advisor. I highly recommend him. He is professional, polite, punctual, speaks English, has amazing knowledge of Egypt and Egyptology and caters to your needs. We were only in cairo 4 days and covered so much. He has "special" access to several sites and pyramids and makes suggestions to maximise your visit. If you would like more information I will gladly supply more.....Well worth booking Ayman. :)
