Very interesting area with synagogues, churches and mosques very close each other. Remember that there are some services going in Friday morning and that it closes in the afternoon. Plan your visit after that!

This area is traditionally where Mary and Joseph escaped to Egypt to avoid Herod's slaughter of the innocents. The Coptic Churches are beautiful and evocative. Well worth a visit.

This area is full of interest and antiquity. It is the Christian area, but happily accommodates, synagogues and mosques. The churches and museums are not to be missed.

Beautiful church with great history. The mosaic is just stunning. Take a guided tour to learn all about the place to give you a good understanding how the church fits in with the history of Egypt.

The area of ancient Egypt contains the three religions of the heavenly Christian, Jewish and Islamic, and we see the most important monuments of the outstanding synagogue, the father of Sarja, the Jewish temple and the Mosque of Amr ibn al-Aas

The Coptic Museum and Churches is one if the better kept attractions in Cairo. The place is fairly clean with not too many hawkers selling tic tac. The inside of all the churches are clean and well cared for. Its well worth a visit.

We visited various of the old Coptic churches including those linked with the Roman time. I found them interesting and relatively non-commercial. I would recommend this activity particularly if you want to know something of the early Christian history of Egypt.
