A visit to Tbilisi’s oldest surviving church is a must. It is a small church with a three naïve basilica which has been restored many times but has lots of atmosphere and very popular with tourists and is well worth a visit.

For being the oldest church in Tbilisi it is in good shape. Certainly worth to make a stop and take a look inside. Great architecture

The church is constructed with the yellowish tuff rectangulars, though after the restoration brick took some part in the layers of the church.

That was the first place we visited in Tbilisi and were not disappointed. That made my heart beating and we were excited to be there. The oldest church of the city! We were deeply touched with the conversation with the Holy Father who kindly offered...More

This is an old basilica in the midst of Tbilisi and small and feel little too small walking through, but worth a peek inside.

Hi Shelly, I'm not entirely sure for the dates you mention, but when I was there in early June, there was scaffolding up but I believe on Sundays there may be a church service. Might be good to ask the accommodation you are... More
