The biggest stupa in the center is under construction during my visit, disappointed as I was unable to see the great building. Btw, you would still be surprised and mesmerized by the temples and shrines surrounding it.

Shwedagon Pagoda , in spite of the large crowds is still relatively unknown in the western world. It is extensive and overwhelming. The best time to visit is after sunset as it is an illuminated wonderland.
