Happy surprise
Sep 2019
This is a spacious church. We visited as the service was finishing and were surprised by a beautiful choir. It was nice to see how happy everyone seemed, moving at the rhythm of the music.

Basilica St. Anne built by France between 1936 and 1949
Jul 2019
The Basilica was built by France during and after World War II. It is a cross shaped building with striking green roof and interesting doors glad with sculpted copper.

Gorgeous church

This really is one of the highlights to visit in Brazzaville. The bright green roof is beautiful, and the copper panels on the doors are amazing! Easy to find in the walkable downtown area.

The architecture is really nice and unusual for this country. The interior is very interesting. I really liked the arches.

I don't particularly care about modern churches
Mar 2018 • Solo
Nevertheless, the architecture is interesting. When asked who paid for it, the reply was the French Government. But since it was built during World War II, that raises the question of which French Government. Because De Gaulle formed a Government in exile here, I assume it might have been his French Government that paid for the construction.

Brazzaville is a pretty cool city, this cathedral is quite beautiful, with a very special architecture that makes it different, more beautiful on the outside than inside, although it is worth a visit.

Beautiful basilica in Brazzaville

I did not have a chance to go inside, but I did enjoy looking at it from the outside; it has a beautiful green roof and a nice garden where you can sit and enjoy the scene.
