Went out to Hideaway on a rare sunny day. Because it is easy to reach from town it is overcrowded. Too many tourists, seems like a crowded beach somewhere in Europe. Further more entrance fees are steep (about $17.00) for what? As we were having...More

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 days. It was a great spot to unwind before starting the rest of our holiday. Take the time to go snorkeling, kayaking and fish feeding. Relax on the beach chairs and relax to the tinkling sound of...More

We visited the Mele Cascades and Hideaway Island on the same day. The Cascades in the morning and had quite the appetite by the time we got to Hideaway Island. The fish curry was yum and the slushies were great. It was a pretty dreary...More

Great location and great and abundant dive sites special thanks to Richard who runs the dive shop. Food was amazing and exceeded expectations especially the breakfast, as a diver it was great to have beans to go with the omelette. Would have been great to...More

Masses of varieties of coral fish within easy reach of the beach, further out even more interesting. Coral is recovering and better in some parts than others, however always always fascinating.

Regular ferry service back and forth to the island. Good snack bar and pleasant snorkelling. Unfortunately the coral reef is badly damaged by recent cyclones but they are focused on restoring it. Could probably offer more advisory info to snorkelers as we saw quite a...More

Myself & two boys (14 & 9) will be arriving by P/Dawn to Port Vila at the end of Feb 2018 - the Half day North Efate Snorkelling Adventure states it's $100 pp - have heard that it's relatively easy to find your own way by going to the road & getting a free taxi there yourself; are they really free? I'm not good at directions nor can I speak French; so v nervous about it. We want to be coming away with the most wonderful experiences but want to not pay for a tour if it's just as easy to find our own way - or is it best to pay/book a tour if your novice at it all? We want to post a card at the underwater post office - is it easy to find where to purchase these, if not with a tour? Also really want to go to the Blue Lagoon on the same day is this possible? and do the Big Zipline Track - we unfortunately only have a day visit; so your opinions on what is doable/recommended would be gold. Thk-u.
