Hopped in a boat, served rum and watched dolphins for about an hour at the point where two rivers met. Relaxing activity.

The Commewijne River, one of the many rivers of Suriname, joins the Suriname River just before it reaches the ocean. One can view pink bellied river dolphins, visit plantations, tour the New Amsterdam fort and prison, and go bird watching.

It takes about an hour to get to the place where the dolphins swim but it was fun to see them and life on the river. Stopping at Fredriksdorp Plantation was a real treat. Beautiful grounds.
